EGAL announces five new Advisory Council members

Jon Altschuler, Founder, Altschuler and Company

Jon Altschuler is the founder of Altschuler and Company and has been involved in all phases of the firm’s development since its founding in 2009. He started his career with Trammell Crow Company and was the president of Stream Realty Partners. Jon is civically active, serving as the chairman of the SMU Dedman College executive board and as a board member of the SMU Mustang Club and the Highland Park Educational Foundation. He is past president of Bradfield Dads Club and has recently served on the North Texas YPO chapter board and the HPUMC finance committee. Jon is a graduate of Southern Methodist University where he was elected Phi Beta Kappa. Jon earned his MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.

Sherika Ekpo, Chief Diversity & Incl​usion Officer, Anaplan

Sherika joined Anaplan as the inaugural Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer in June 2021. Sherika has nearly 20 years of strategic human capital, talent acquisition, and management experience. Over the course of her career, Sherika has worked for several prestigious organizations such as Google, JPMorgan Chase, General Electric, and the White House, just to name a few. Her contributions in diversity, equity, and inclusion have been honored with several professional and community awards. Sherika currently sits on the Board of Directors for Skylight Digital and Aqua-Leisure where she serves as the Head of the Compensation Committee. Sherika received a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Marketing from Howard University and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Dianna Gonzales-Burdin, Former Partner and Managing Director, Strategic Investment Group

Dianna is a former partner and Managing Director of Strategic Investment Group (“SIG”), an investment management enterprise which designs and implements customized global investment strategies for large institutional investors. Prior to joining SIG in 1991, Dianna was an Assistant Vice President at Barclays Global Investors (previously known as Wells Fargo Nikko Investment Advisors) within the portfolio implementation and transaction management groups. At SIG she co-led the diversity and inclusion initiatives which resulted in building firm awareness, improved recruitment tactics, and the incorporation of the consideration of firm diversity and inclusion characteristics in the manager selection process. She also serves as an Ambassador for the Girls Who Invest program. Dianna holds an M.B.A. from the Walter A. Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley and a B.S. in Finance from the University of Colorado.

Dave Kim, Vice President, Global Diversity Equity Inclusion, Zendesk

Prior to Zendesk, Dave led Inclusion and Diversity at Gilead Sciences who delivered life saving treatments during a global pandemic and focused on ‘listening to act together’ strategies during a time of social unrest. Dave has also worked at companies dedicated to diversity & inclusion and ESG (environmental social governance) such as Electronic Arts as head of diversity inclusion and corporate social responsibility, and Dell, Inc. as head of global diversity inclusion. Prior to those roles, Dave has also learned through experiences at 3Com/Palm, Cadence Design Systems, Price Waterhouse, and UPS. Dave has served on the Board of Directors of APAICS (Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies), the Board of Directors of The Center for Child Protection and partnered closely with the UN HeForShe Champions.

Katie Liang, Project Manager, BizLink Technology

Born and raised in the Bay Area, Katie is a proud double bear. She graduated from Haas’ undergrad program in 2015 and just finished her first semester of the EWMBA program. In addition to her studies, she serves as a project manager at BizLink Technology, driving change initiatives in digital transformation and employee engagement. Before joining BizLink, she started her career in online marketing as a product manager in charge of increasing website engagement. Katie hopes to implement programs within BizLink that will encourage a more diverse leadership group. She looks forward to learning from the EGAL team and contributing wherever she can.
